REDLAND BAY

Suburb Information

Redland Bay has a holiday coastal country atmosphere. It is the steppingstone for visiting the Southern Moreton Bay Islands of Russell, Karragarra, Lamb and Macleay with regular passenger services from Banana Street and barge services from Weinam Street at the Weinam Creek Transit Precinct.

In recent years Redland Bay has seen much change with apartment blocks, larger supermarkets and new urban development but still retains a large tract of bush covered conservation area. It is a growing bayside residential community that boasts an 18-hole golf course at the Redland Bay Golf Club, Redland Bay Tennis Club, cricket oval, cycling and walking paths, Redland Bay Amateur Fishing Club, community parks as well as popular trails along the foreshore to take in the water views.

Embrace the atmosphere at the local markets on Broadwater Terrace and Stradbroke Street. Pop into the famous Redland Bay Hotel next door which was first built in1882 and then again in the 1920’s after a fire.

Schools: Redland Bay State School services the area, with Victoria Point High the nearest state secondary school. Carmel College, a Catholic high school, is a little further down the road at Thornlands, with St Rita’s Catholic Primary School and Faith Lutheran College nearby at Victoria Point.

Commuting: Ferry to the Southern Moreton Bay Islands or the nearest train station is Cleveland. Transdev Queensland operates regular bus services.
